They have no choice Someone mentioned to me last week that kids from generation Y (born after 1982) has no respect for people and are less responsible.
They also mentioned that generation Z (born after 2001) cannot live without laptop and handphone and they are worse than gen Y.

I have 1 kid under gen Y and 3 kids under gen Z, and I tried to reflect what I have heard.
Is it true that our coming generations are less responsible and has no respect for other people?

I looked at my kids and started to reflect my younger years. How about generation X then? Are we less than Baby Boomers?

The answer is actually in the hand of the parents. We decide whether our kids is X, Y or Z. We decide whether to or not to teach them about respect and being a responsible human.

Parents are the one who will decide and mold them as we already had a 'built-in' model in our mind. Kids are brought up in individual family culture which will eventually stayed with them during the process of growing up. If the parents decide and say "They are too young to hold that responsibility", then they are always too young and will never understand what is the meaning of responsibility. They grew up believing that culture and they practice the same in their workplace and social environment.

So, do they have a choice? Maybe, but the seed has been planted and covered with earth and water and sometimes, cemented so that no one can move the plant or uncovered the seed.

So, tell me, do they have a choice?

RE:They have no choice I agree with you. It's all about how the parents raise them. I have seen irresponsible and rude teenagers and I have seen really respectable ones too.

Every time I see bad behaviour (like openly littering), I wonder how the parents raised them!
