A quick update

Ayanna has returned to school after a bout of flu. She's happy to do so, having missed her teachers and friends. Plus all the fun activities such as art and craft, music and dance. Her lip is almost completely healed. It's so true – lips are the fastest to heal. In just three days, the swelling had gone down significantly and the gaping cut had somewhat closed.

This month we see Ayanna turning 30 months as she celebrates Chinese New Year with her friends. With the upcoming long weekend, I hope to have a list of fun things for her to do around the house while I contemplate giving her the flu vaccination. Any thoughts on this?

We're already half way through the month. I'm wondering about my two-year-old and how to encourage the nice words such as 'please', 'thank you'; how to ignore the dreadful whining when it starts; and how to introduce Valentine's day (is it really necessary?).
