Overnight adventure

For the first time in two plus years did we leave Ayanna overnight with her granny. I was a little apprehensive, given the fact that Ayanna had yet to spent any nights away from me.

I informed her almost a week before the planned outing. And repeated it everyday so she remembered. I said goodbye and told her that I was leaving and would be home the next day. I called her from time to time while I was away. She seemed to handle my absence rather week. Staying home in familiar surroundings with a loved one helped Ayanna cope with the absence of Mummy and Daddy

I'm planning on another overnight getaway next week.

Any tips on how to make it easier on the kids, especially if it may be a weekend getaway?
