IT WAS nice day out at the ParenThots Family Day 2010 in Padang Astaka, Petaling Jaya, on Aug 7.
Parents came strolling in with their little ones for a fun-filled time of games and interaction.
Among the activities held were Ivory toss, Ring-a-ling, Velcro stick, Ball toss, Tee off, Tin ball, Buzzer challenge and Rollerball along side balloon sculpture as well as face-painting.
Parents too got into the fun with Quiz Time where they were questioned based on articles in ParenThots.
Close ties: The event presented a great opportunity for parents to bond with their children.
There were free sampling of Nimm2, Ricola and Gourmet Goo baby food.
To create further bonding between parents and children, a workshop — Crafts was held by mummy blogger Merryn Tan and cupcake decoration by Whipnwhisk.
The event was organised with the support of The Star as a chance to introduce the parenting website to more parents.
At last year’s event, more than 500 people took part where the families had heaps of refreshing fun.
According to portal head Brigitte Rozario, they had tremendous response with the event.
She was glad that many parents and children were willing to spend their Saturday at the family day.
“We hope it will provide a good opportunity for parents and children to bond and create memories.
“We also hope the regular visitors to our website will continue their support of ParenThots and more new ones will join in,” she said.
Lecturer Che Noorliza Lat, 45, said she read about the event in The Star.
“I received the bulletin in my mailbox.
“It is a good event with all the games, books and activities.
“Even though the children playing the games do not win, they still get prizes, which is encouraging,” she said, adding that it was a great way to spend a Saturday with her children.
Service manager Lim Boon Han, 38, had heard about the event via the website.
He said the event was a good move for family to bond.
Careful: Parents helping out their children to make cup cake decorations.
“This presents a good opportunity for those who do not have the time, so they can come here and spend some quality time together,” he said.
Personal assistant Sunita Krishnaraja, 33, came all the way from Kajang to attend the event.
She had heard good reviews about the first ParenThots event and wanted to see the second one.
“It will be a good way to spend time with my two-and-half-year-old son.
“My son would also be able to interact with other children,” she said.
