Brain games are important because they stimulate children’s thinking, push them beyond their current capacity and at the same time allow them to have fun.
Even at the tender age of one, my little girl loves to solve problems. Something as simple as hiding a toy under a pillow can go on for quite some time. She loves picking up each pillow to find her “treasure.”
In the same way, brain games give children the opportunity to go through a process of trial and error in order to solve a problem. Instead of just giving my child the toy or providing the solution for the brain game, this platform for thinking helps children be more analytical and creative in respect to problem-solving.
Brain games also often have different stages or levels which allow children to move up the ladder in terms of thinking. As the games become more difficult, children have to push themselves beyond their current level. Parents, adults, or older children can help guide the player when they get stuck at a certain level. Hence, children also learn cooperation.
Most importantly, brain games are fun as they can be challenging. This can keep children entertained for hours while at the same time developing their brain capacity. The build and look of the game – often in vibrant colours – attracts children and keeps their attention.
In short, there are many reasons brain games are important. The above are just a few examples of the many benefits of brain games. Parents should give brain games a chance and see the positive impact on their children.
