Answer

Answered by Brigitte Hi Revathy,

Having a child is a big decision and an even bigger responsibility.

Please do think about it seriously and discuss it with your family and friends. Those who are closest to you will know if you are ready for such a responsibility.

Is this a knee-jerk reaction to something that has happened recently? If so, it's best to spend some months or at least a year thinking about it.

In Malaysia, there is no sperm bank and no hospital will allow you to be artificially inseminated, even if you find a man to donate his sperm.

Thus, your only option is adoption.

Read this article on adoption:

Keep in mind that adoption is not an easy and quick solution to anything. The whole process of adoption takes time and the state welfare office will have to determine if you are suitable.

Think it over. Having a child is a long-term commitment and there's no going back once you decide to go through with it.

Having a child as a single parent will be difficult. Children and everything related to children is not cheap. How will you pay those bills on your own?

Parents have no off days or leave. You won't be able to take holidays on your own without somehow caring for your child. This child will be tethered to you for the rest of your life.

Is that really what you want? Think about it long and hard before deciding.
